The Truckee Meadows Branch of the ASCE is requesting nominations for the Outstanding Project and Outstanding Engineer of the Year. This year the branch will be honoring projects from year 2009. Nomination forms are available in the newsletter and on the branch website. The engineer you nominate need not be an ASCE member.
We are proud of your work and we want to recognize the successes of engineers meeting the demands of society. The awards will be presented at the February lunch meeting of the Truckee Meadows Branch of ASCE.
The Board of Truckee Meadows Branch decided to not include a separate geotechnical category from this year’s awards. However, the geotechnical engineering projects could be submitted under the other three categories of environmental, structural and transportation engineering. For example, an erosion control project could be submitted under environmental category, or a foundation engineering project could be submitted under structural engineering category, or a transportation materials project could be submitted under transportation engineering category. If there is enough interest, this category may reappear in next year’s awards.
The nomination will require a 300 word project overview supporting why you feel this project or engineer deserves recognition, plus three or more project photos to support the nomination. If you have any questions, please contact Terri Svetich of ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Get started now. Turn it in early and make it easy on the judges!
Please remember the deadline for the submittal is January 8, 2010. |
